1. Colonia del Sacramento

is a top destination due to its closeness to its famous neighbour  Buenos Aires on the other side of the Rio de la Plata. While sightseeing in Colonia you can discover the hidden treasures of the  UNESCO World Heritage Site with its churches, various museums, ancient houses, cobbled streets, river promenade and, antique Plaza de Toros (bullring) . There are also affordable flights to the Carrasco Airport, located 30mins from Montevideo and 1hr from Punta del Este by car.
4. The Rocha Coast
