2. The Millenium Gallery
The Millenium Gallery, Sheffield, UK |
Some would argue that this is Sheffield's largest gem and a landmark UK art gallery. The Millenium Gallery is broken up into several smaller permanent exhibitions, with some extra space for seasonal temporary ones. Permanent exhibitions can be found in the Ruskin gallery, as well as the Metalwork and Craft & Design museums. Any big exhibitions which are touring the UK are likely to stop off here for a month or two as well so make sure you check the calendar before booking your trip so you know what expect.

The Meadowhall isn't very special if you're looking for history or activities to keep you occupied, but if you like to shop you'll definitely want to check it out. It's the largest shopping arcade in the region with over 250 shops under a single roof - perfect if you hit on a rainy day and want to buy some gifts and souvenirs for people, or perhaps just buy yourself a new wardrobe! Inside you'll also find some nice restaurants and great places to have lunch - and there are one or two campaign bars and pubs along the way for when you need to pop your feet up.
